Dodge in August revealed a pair of special-edition Durangos celebrating two decades of the Hemi V-8's availability in the SUV nameplate. Now it's added a third, the Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead.
Like the previous specials, the Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead is available for the 2025 model year and order books are already open. Pricing starts at $113,720, excluding destination, and Dodge hasn't said how many build slots will be available, though numbers are typically limited with such special editions.
The Hammerhead in the name comes from Dodge's Hammerhead Gray Laguna leather trim found on the seats. The vehicle also boasts a dark blue exterior, a particular shade called Night Moves. Other special touches include a sepia finish for the SRT Hellcat logos on the seats, a matte black hood, and 20-inch wheels also finished in matte black.
A long list of the Durango's premium features are also included as standard. Some of the items include a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a suede headliner, a sunroof, carbon-fiber interior accents, a leather and suede steering wheel, a wireless phone charger, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Brembo brakes are also included as part of the package.
2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead
Under the hood sits a stock Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. It delivers 710 hp in the Durango SRT Hellcat, or enough for 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.5 seconds, a quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.5 seconds, and a top speed of 180 mph. The numbers are impressive for a midsize SUV with third-row seats.
Dodge is gearing up to bid farewell to the V-8 in the Durango, the brand's last model to offer the engine. As it did with its last V-8-powered Challenger and Charger muscle cars, Dodge will be rolling out a series of “Last Call” special editions to mark the end of the V-8's run in the Durango.
The first of these was revealed in January as the 2024 Durango SRT 392 AlcHemi, and more are planned for 2025.
