• A new TRD Rally Package gets the livery right on this year's Tundra
  • Powertrains carry over; so do some good off-road hardware
  • It's $42,035 for the base SR regular cab for 2025

The Toyota Tundra full-size pickup enters the 2025 model year with an enhanced TRD Rally Package.

New for the TRD Rally Package are design details inspired by Toyota's trophy trucks of the 1990s, like decals that share the red, orange, and yellow hues of the livery on the original Baja racers. The same colors continue into the cabin, where they feature as accents on the seats and dash.

There are also some genuine off-road upgrades that carry over from the previous year. These include 18-inch off-road wheels with all-terrain tires, Bilstein dampers, skid plates, and an electronically controlled locking rear differential (four-wheel-drive trucks only). The package also includes driving modes designed for rough terrain and crawling.

Buyers of the TRD Rally Package can select from the four exterior colors Ice Cap (as shown), Magnetic Gray, Midnight Black Metallicm and Celestial Silver. And anyone choosing the off-road-focused TRD Pro model can select the new color Mudbath, which is only available on the TRD Pro.

The 2025 Tundra is also available as SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, and Capstone models.

There aren't many changes on these other models, though new massaging seats are available and standard on 1794, Platinum and Capstone models. A wireless camera system for trailers is also available. It is designed to stream video from behind the trailer to the digital rearview mirror over a wifi connection.

The current Tundra is the third generation of the nameplate. It arrived for the 2022 model year with two powertrain options, and those options are unchanged on the latest 2025 model. The base option is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 rated at 389 hp (348 hp on SR grade) and for buyers seeking more performance there's a hybrid option that combines the same V-6 with an electric motor for a total of 437 hp. In both cases the transmission is a 10-speed automatic. Depending on the configuration, towing capacity is a maximum 12,000 pounds.

The Tundra's platform is Toyota's GA-F designed for body-on-frame vehicles, and the suspension has been designed for comfort thanks to double wishbones up front and a multi-link setup at the rear. Air springs (rear axle only) and adjustable dampers can be added on some models.

The Tundra is offered in two four-door options: Double Cab and larger CrewMax. Double Cab models are offered with the choice of 6.5- or 8.1-foot beds. CrewMax models are offered with the choice of 5.5- or 6.5-foot beds.

The 2025 Tundra will start at $42,035 for the base SR Double Cab and 6.5-foot bed when it goes on sale later this year.
