Ford has something “big” planned for the Bronco Sport, and a teaser video suggests it may be an off-road-focused Sasquatch Package similar to what Ford offers on the bigger Bronco.

The video, which was posted to Ford's social media pages on Monday, shows a Bronco Sport's tailgate caked with mud. A big hairy arm like you might find on the alleged creature known as a Sasquatch (or Bigfoot) then appears and writes the date Aug. 26 in the mud.

The Sasquatch Package for the Bronco adds off-road features, including 35-inch tires, locking front and rear differentials, and Bilstein shocks. Similar items are likely planned for the Bronco Sport's package, perhaps toned down a little to suit the smaller SUV.

The most capable Bronco Sport at present is the Badlands. Ford also offers a Black Diamond Off-Road Package for the Big Bend and Outer Banks models.

Camouflaged prototypes for a more capable Bronco Sport have already been spotted. They appear to have more ground clearance than the current Bronco Sport, and they also have a unique wheel design and Goodyear Territory RT tires, instead of the Falken Wildpeak AT tires currently offered on the Bronco Sport.

The same prototypes also have revised interiors sporting a larger infotainment screen. It means Ford is likely preparing an update for the Bronco Sport range, in addition to a Sasquatch Package.

Given the timing of the reveal, the updated Bronco Sport with the Sasquatch Package will likely be introduced for the 2025 model year in the U.S.
