The 2024 model year was the last for Infiniti's Q50 compact sedan, leaving the brand with a lineup consisting of SUVs only for 2025.
The Q50 arrived for the 2014 model year and ushered in Infiniti's Q naming strategy. However, it saw few updates over the years and some rivals, like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, have even been redesigned twice over the Q50's lifespan.
At 10 years old, the Q50 was one of the oldest vehicles on the market, and its sales reflected that. Infiniti sold just 1,442 examples in the second quarter, down about 21% on the same period a year ago.
With the Q50 gone, it means the QX50 compact crossover is now the entry point for the brand. Pricing information hasn't been announced for the 2025 QX50 which goes on sale this fall, though Infiniti has confirmed that all-wheel drive will be a standard feature.
Other vehicles in the lineup include the QX55, essentially a coupe-like version of the QX50, plus the QX60 three-row crossover and QX80 full-size SUV. The QX80 has been redesigned for the 2025 model year, with the new version getting a much more upscale design, inside and out. It also loses its predecessor's V-8 in favor of Infiniti's ubiquitous twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6.
Infiniti has more new product in the pipeline. The brand last fall confirmed a QX65 midsize crossover that will likely be a coupe-like version of the QX60. Also confirmed at the time were a pair of electric vehicles, one a fastback hatch and the other a crossover. Timing for the vehicles wasn't mentioned.
