This Thursday, February 11, is the first day of the 2016 Chicago Auto Show and according to a new report one of the cars we’ll see unveiled on the day is a new Chevrolet Camaro 1LE.

Yes, you read that correctly. One of your favorite cars at the moment, in fact, our Best Car To Buy 2016, could be about to get even better.

According to Automotive News (subscription required), the Camaro 1LE will share the stage with an updated version of the Trax subcompact crossover, as well as the Colorado and Silverado pickups wearing some new colors.

News of the Camaro 1LE doesn’t come as a complete surprise as a prototype was spotted at the Nürburgring last fall. The car is expected to come with uprated suspension, a few body mods and the Camaro SS’s 455-horsepower 6.2-liter LT1 V-8.

We’re still hopeful that the price tag will come in under $40k, which is possible considering the 2016 SS starts at $37,295, with shipping. The last 1LE was priced a little over $37k. Such pricing would make the car the sweet spot of the sixth-generation Camaro range. After all, we’re talking about a reasonably-priced, track-capable sports car with a V-8. Note, those with bigger budgets may want to wait for the new Camaro ZL1 that was also spotted testing at the ‘Ring last year.

In other Chicago Auto Show news, Automotive News is also reporting that Nissan is bringing an all-new model, most likely a new Armada. As we learned just last week, the new Armada may end up being a rebadged version of the Nissan Patrol sold overseas.

We’ll be at the Chicago Auto Show to bring you all the latest updates. In the meantime, visit our dedicated hub to learn about some of the other vehicles appearing.
