The title pretty much says it all. A police chase in Connecticut early on Tuesday ended after a BMW X5 crashed into a house, pinning a sleeping resident underneath for nearly an hour.
That sleeping resident was 34-year-old Michael Sweat, who later had to be taken to hospital due to second- and third-degree burns caused after coming into contact with the X5.
The worst part is that the driver of the BMW managed to escape after the crash and is still at large.
The chase started when the driver of the BMW failed to stop at a police check near New Haven, in Connecticut. He swerved to avoid the block but lost control and crashed into the house.
Sweat remains in hospital and is expected to survive.
The video, posted by the Associated Press on its YouTube page, shows the wreckage of the X5 and the damage done to the house.
