  • 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder

Porsche is alerting owners of its 918 Spyder that it wants to take a look at the seat belt mounting system in their supercars to ensure that the correct screw is in the correct location. The problem, the automaker says, isn't that the vehicles were assembled incorrectly in Zuffenhausen, Germany. Instead, an error in the original parts catalog means that, if a technician needed to work on the car's seats or seat belts, there is a possibility that the screws that secure the belt and reel mounts to the vehicle were incorrectly replaced. Porsche says that it will inspect all 918 Spyders and that...

After failing to sell, wrecked Porsche 918 Spyder starts new auction

You may recall a Porsche 918 Spyder with just 92 miles on the clock was involved in a major crash and subsequently put up for sale via a salvage auction. That was back in March. • 2016 Dodge Viper Venom 800 by Hennessey Performance Engineering

Despite the Viper being the flagship of the Dodge brand, it’s outmuscled by the Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat when it comes to outright power. And we’re not talking small numbers here. The Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat each make do with 707 horsepower versus the 645 hp of the Viper, despite their engines being substantially smaller (6.2 liters versus 8.4). The discrepancy is due to the Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat coming with a supercharger. Some had hoped Dodge would eventually supercharge the Viper’s engine, but alas the automaker never got around to doing...

  • 2017 Ford GT shows off options
Ford lays out some of the options available to GT buyers

Among the options announced by Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] today for its upcoming GT supercar is a choice of five shades for the vehicle's Brembo brake calipers. That degree of customizability is a new high for Ford, but then again the GT shares little with the rest of the automaker's lineup. Ford...

  • Aston Martin AM-RB 001

Yesterday we were treated to the reveal of a new hypercar being developed by Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing. The development is far from complete yet already the car, code-named the AM-RB 001, is being billed as the McLaren F1 for this generation. That’s because just like the F1, the new AM-RB 001 is the brainchild of one of Formula One’s best designers, in this case Adrian Newey, who was responsible for Red Bull’s four championship-winning racecars (2010-2013). “I’ve long harbored the desire to design a road car,” Newey admits. And like Gordon Murray...

Pagani shows off new Huayra Roadster at private event

Don't worry. We didn't get the invite to check out Pagani's new droptop version of its Huayra, either. But attendees were treated to an extra...

  • McLaren P1 LM at 2016 Goodwood Hillclimb

One of the Goodwood Festival of Speed's major attractions is its renowned Hillclimb, a sprint up Lord March's driveway. It might not be as challenging as, say, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, but Goodwood's paved road nonetheless attracts some of the most awe-inspiring cars in the world...like the McLaren P1 LM that smashed the record this year. This spiritual successor to McLaren's legendary F1 ignored the news about "Brexit" that was the talk of the day at Goodwood and, instead, finished the course in just 47.07 seconds with retired Swedish racing legend Kenny Bräck behind the...

Perhaps you've pushed them too far, and they will actually fail on you. This is a very bad situation for any driver. It's especially bad if you're on a racetrack in a...
