Donkevoort isn't a household name—unless you keep up with Nürburgring records, in which case you probably know that the company's dedicated sports car held the fastest times for a street-legal car around the challenging Nordschleife in 2004 and 2006. Despite the funny name, Dutch company Donkervoort has been building some pretty serious sports cars, and their latest model is just about to be revealed. They’ve been working on a fixed-roof version of the D8 roadster by adding a carbon fiber roof and wing mirrors. The D8 also has a roll-cage, and the GT version will be only 20 kilograms heavier than the roadster. It’s powered by an Audi turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that develops between 180 and 270 horsepower. Only 50 will be built per year, ensuring exclusivity. The new D8 coupe will be formally shown at the 2007...
