PSA Group CEO Carlos Tavares on Monday confirmed the French auto giant will launch a car-sharing service in Los Angeles and possibly more cities in the United States.
PSA, which represents brands Peugeot, DS and Citroën, will work with fellow French firm Bollore to launch the service.
Bollore has already tested the waters with a car-sharing service in the U.S. with its BlueIndy service offered in Indianapolis.
“We're working with a good number of cities, including L.A., to offer car-sharing solutions with Bollore Group,” Tavares told reporters at a press conference in France, Reuters reports.
Tavares didn’t mention the cars that would be used in the L.A. service or when it will actually start. What’s most exciting though is the move could pave the way for the eventual return of PSA’s brands to the U.S. In April, Tavares said PSA will use car-sharing as a first step towards a possible return to the market.
