Lexus' new LC coming early next year is bound to be pretty fast, but racing a fighter jet? That may put the two-door luxury coupe out of its element.
In this video/commercial released by Lexus' Spanish distributor, a bright red LC 500 piloted by actress Mar Saura takes on an F-18 fighter jet...well, kind of. You'll have to watch the video to get the full story (which is, admittedly, in Spanish, but no dialog is needed to understand what's going on).

The video was filmed in collaboration with the Spanish Air Force at the Torrejon airport on the outskirts of Madrid.
As for the LC 500, the big coupe boasts a 467-horsepower 5.0-liter V-8 engine plucked from the automaker's RC F and GS F. Mated exclusively to a new 10-speed automatic gearbox, the V-8 sends power to the rear wheels. Although the video doesn't exactly show the LC 500 being put through its paces, Lexus has assured us that the LC's new platform will make it the most sport-oriented vehicle the brand has made short of its LFA supercar.
The LC 500 also recently spawned a hybrid variant called the LC 500h.
