Although decidedly modest by today's customizing standards, the 1996 Hummer H1 that Tupac Shakur picked out just a few months before he was gunned down in Las Vegas is full of surprises fitting with the rapper's taste.
Now is your chance to become the next steward of the black Hummer, a four-door hardtop with a 6.5-liter V-8 diesel engine. Shakur had the truck mildly customized with auxiliary lights, brush guards, dark tinted windows, and "Eliminator" badging outside.

Inside, the military-grade truck is swathed in leather and burled wood, but what is perhaps most fitting is the high-end (for 1996) Clarion audio system with a 12-disc CD changer. Shakur's days were well before the era of streaming music or personal devices, but we are willing to bet the audio system still sounds pretty good—after all, some things will never change.
1996 Hummer H1 originally owned by Tupac Shakur
The Hummer will be offered online from May 12-19 as part of mega pop cultural auctioneer RR Auction's latest online-only auction. The firm has previously sold cars like the Cadillac Escalade used in HBO's The Sopranos and the Lincoln Continental convertible John F. Kennedy and Jackie rode in between Fort Worth and Dallas before the president was killed in his limousine.

RR Auction has the original registration as well as the affidavit for transfer to Shakur’s mother Afeni Shakur Davis following the rapper’s death in 1996. Shakur’s mother, who passed away this week, have up the Hummer in 2003 as part of a BET sweepstakes. The last owner was a Vancouver collector who’s had the vehicle since 2010.
It's estimated to sell for over $100,000, more than double what a similar 1996 model would trade for on the used market.
