The official show of the Specialty Equipment Market Association has come and gone for another year so now let’s look back at some of the stars. One of our favorite cars present was the 2016 Nissan GT-R NISMO N-Attack Package. This is the version of the GT-R that set a blistering 7:08.679 Nürburgring lap time back in 2013, and it’s now finally available in the States.

2016 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder

Another standout was the 2016 Hennessey Venom GT. The car’s output has just been bumped up to 1,451 horsepower, which likely means it’s now the fastest car in production.

Another drag special at SEMA was the Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F]’s new Cobra Jet based on the sixth-generation Mustang. Just 50 examples will be made of this 8.0-second turnkey drag racer.

Another, much older, much rarer Cobra was also at SEMA. We’re talking about the original Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe built by Carroll Shelby and Peter Brock back in 1964. This was the first of the six Daytona Coupes built and the one that went on to secure America’s first championship title in an international motorsport series.

Supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V-8

We’re excited to report that the supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 fitted to cars like the Cadillac CTS-V and Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is now available as a crate engine. The engine matches the 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque found in the Z06, making it the most powerful engine ever offered by General Motors Company [NYSE:GM]. Incredibly, it can be yours for just $15,625. Chevy showed it off in a cool 1970 Camaro RS restomod.

2016 Dodge Viper ACR

2016 Dodge Viper ACR

We’ve already seen the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR but at SEMA this week Dodge confirmed the car had set lap records at 13 race tracks around the country, including some of the most popular such as Laguna Seca and Road Atlanta. The car even managed to beat the fastest supercars, like the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder, despite being considerably down on power and price.

Another interesting Dodge was this Dart GLH concept. The automaker isn’t willing to confirm production just yet but recall that the Viper ACR above was originally previewed in concept form at SEMA, and it’s possible the same will be true for a new Dart GLH.

Galpin Auto Sports 2016 Acura ILX & Ludacris Legend

Galpin Auto Sports 2016 Acura ILX & Ludacris Legend

You may recall that Acura recently teamed up with Chris Bridges, best known by his stage name Ludacris, to restore a 1993 Acura Legend owned by the rapper and movie star. The completed car was on show at SEMA this week alongside a current ILX modified by Galpin Auto Sports.
