Wednesday was pretty bad for the masters of the universe.
Computer errors forced the New York Stock Exchange to cease trading, leaving high-octane brokers with nothing to shout about, and billions of Twitter and Tumblr users scrambling to post the same joke. We thought "glitch better have my money" was funny—the first 50 or so times.
Fortunately, the mad circus of the forums didn't pause, and as always, Motor Authority watched. Here's what happened this week:
- A RennList member posted photos of his new ride being delivered, proving that while many folks have schedules as empty as an Applebee's in Monte Carlo, some are busy enough they can't even be around when their new 918 Spyder arrives.
- The cinematic excess of Mad Max: Fury Road inspired a JaguarForum regular to turn his F-Type coupe into a rusted, post-apocalyptic desert runner. See if you can find it here. Hint: There's a stunning, bikini-clad girl laying on it.
- Over on CorvetteForum, the membership collectively drooled over the latest effort from Canadian specialist John Caravaggio. Because while Corvette interiors have come a long way, this work gives Maranello a run for its money.
- "Cowboy Cadillacs" aren't new. But the majesty of Dunkel Industries' Ford F-750 World Cruiser caused fans of Ford-Trucks—and presumably, the entire state of Texas—to remove their hats, place their hands on their hearts, and weep.
- Bikers on HDForums debated what the appropriate punishment is for a motorist who intentionally sprays a rider with windshield washer fluid. We looked, but couldn't find "sternly worded letter" anywhere in the thread. Imagine that.
