The 2015 XF R-Sport will debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show next month as a car for people who want an XFR-S, but can't spend a fortune on fuel. Like BMW M Performance and Lexus F-Sport, the R-Sport treatment involves minor modifications for a little added excitement. The XF R-Sport will even launch with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine, coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
With 160 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, the diesel R-Sport isn't a screamer. Jaguar says it will do 0 to 60 mph in 9.8 seconds, and reach a top speed of 130 mph. At least the engine features start-stop, which helps it achieve 57.7 mpg on the--admittedly optimistic--European cycle.
It will also have plenty of attitude, thanks to a sporty front bumper, XFR-inspired side sills, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Those wheels, by the way, are mounted on low rolling resistance tires to increase fuel economy. Notice a theme here?

The interior gets a bespoke charcoal-on-charcoal design, with suede-look cloth seats available with contrasting stitching. There are several colors available for the seats and headliner, as well as stainless-steel pedals. Naturally, there's also plenty of R-Sport badging inside and out.
The 2015 Jaguar XF R-Sport will be available as a sedan or Sportbrake wagon. Jaguar has not said whether it will be available with anything other than the fuel-sipping diesel four. Also unclear is whether Jag plans to launch more R-Sport models, and whether it plans to import them to the United States.
