Gran Turismo 6 for Sony’s PlayStation 3, which goes on sale today, features over 1,200 cars including some pretty exciting concepts. One concept in particular is a familiar one, as it is a preview of the second-generation NSX due out in 2015.

Acura has confirmed today that its NSX concept will feature in GT6, where video gamers will be able to test out its twin-turbocharged engine and innovative new three-motor, torque vectoring Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel-Driven system in the virtual world--more than a year before anyone drives the real thing.

The convoluted name essentially describes a ‘through-the-road’ hybrid system where an internal combustion engine is matched with electric drive to form an all-wheel drive system, without the usual driveshafts and differentials weighing it down.

Development of the NSX is being led by engineers at Honda R&D Americas, located in Raymond, Ohio. The car will be produced using domestic and globally sourced parts at the state-of-the-art Performance Manufacturing Center, now under construction in Marysville, Ohio.  As mentioned, the car is due out in 2015.
