The new Acura NSX has been tantalizing us with its clean lines and promised performance for the past couple of years, but soon we’ll finally be able to hop behind the wheel and tell you what it’s like to drive. Until then, sit back and enjoy this video showing a pre-production example attacking Colorado’s Pikes Peak.

The NSX served as official pace car at the recent 2015 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, won by Rhys Millen in a custom electric racer from Latvia’s Drive eO, and we now have an official video showing highlights from the hybrid supercar’s runs up the mountain. Behind the wheel was Sage Marie, a Honda rep who has competed twice at Pikes Peak.
The NSX should be in showrooms late this year or early next. Key rivals will be the Audi R8, BMW i8 and Mercedes-AMG GT, and Acura said when benchmarking the car it used a Ferrari 458 Italia. The NSX is unique in that it combines a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine with a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission and trio of electric motors, a setup Acura says will provide “on-the-rails-cornering” performance.
