Subaru’s BRZ has just been updated for the 2017 model year with a new look, a small bump in power and a more refined cabin.
But the rear-wheel-drive sports car also gets a special edition model, the Series.Yellow, which benefits from a flashy paint job and the BRZ’s top-shelf performance upgrades.
Limited to just 500 units, the BRZ Series.Yellow is distinguished by its yellow exterior and contrasting black accents found on the wheels, side mirror caps and badging.
Inside, there’s a mix of black leather and Alcantara trim with yellow stitching. The seats are also embroidered with a yellow BRZ logo, and the floor mats get their own yellow stitching and are embroidered with a silver BRZ logo.

The special edition comes with both the BRZ’s Limited trim and Performance Package, which means it also comes with Brembo brakes, Sachs shock absorbers, 17-inch alloys and a 4.2-in display in the instrument cluster.
And in addition to the BRZ’s long list of standard equipment, which includes a 6.2-in touchscreen display and rearview camera, the special edition also comes with dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, and door courtesy lights.
The engine is the familiar 2.0-liter flat-4 whose output in the 2017 BRZ is capped at 205 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque, up from 200 hp and 151 lb-ft previously. A 6-speed manual remains standard while a 6-speed automatic is available.
The 2017 Subaru BRZ reaches showrooms in September. The BRZ Series.Yellow won’t be available until next year, though.
