Red Bull Racing at the 2011 Formula 1 Italian GP
And, the Red Bull Racing team is already off to a strong start, with Vettel managing to take pole yet again and Webber not far behind with the fifth fastest time during today’s qualifying session.
However, it won’t be an easy race--at least we hope--as sitting at second and third on the grid respectively will be McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. Though nearly all drivers have conceded that the race for the Championship is virtually over, those in the top of the field will almost certainly be hoping for a win at Monza.
One of these will be Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, who won the Italian Grand Prix in 2010 and will be keen to take home a win at Ferrari’s local race. He’ll start at fourth on the grid, while his Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa will start at sixth on the grid.
Going into tomorrow’s race, Sebastian Vettel leads the 2011 Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship with 259 points, followed by Mark Webber on 167 points and Fernando Alonso on 157 points.
In the Constructors’ Championship, Red Bull Racing remains the clear leader with 426 points, followed by McLaren on 295 points and Ferrari on 231 points.
