Boss Mustang #001 has been sold--not through a Ford dealer, but by the owner.
The car had been on eBay, with the owner asking for a starting bid of $60,000 and a reserve of $100,000. The seller wanted a down payment of $2,000 plus payment in full after seven days, and the buyer was responsible for shipping or pickup.
The seller was looking to sell the car to a collector, not someone who would drive the Boss daily.
We're using the past tense here, because the seller unloaded the car locally before the auction ended. The listing is still online, however, so you can peruse it and read the seller's denial of a 140-mph high-speed run as well as note that he drove it for several days, thus increasing the mileage.
But if you wanted Boss #001, you appear to be out of luck.
