The Gogogear Hyundai Genesis Coupe race car that made its debut at last year's SEMA show is getting ready to take to the track for its first competition run this weekend at Thunderhill Raceway in California. The racer sports the 3.8-liter V-6 engine cranked up to 330 horsepower and a host of upgrades to attack the track.
BC Racing dampers and shock mounts, carbon fiber aero body work, an aftermarket oil cooler, exhaust and intake work, StopTech brakes, Nitto NT-01 tires, and lightweight wheels round out most of the car's non-safety-related upgrades.
The race will be the first of the season for the Nitto Tire U.S. Touring Car Championship, sanctioned by the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). If you're in the neighborhood, you can grab tickets at the gate for just $5. If you're not within driving distance, the race will be shown on Final Drive TV on tape delay.
