Rolls-Royce Showroom in Abu Dhabi
The biggest Rolls-Royce showroom in the world isn't in England. Nor is it in Beverly Hills, the Hamptons, or any of the other places you might suspect. No, at 900 square meters -- that's nearly 9,700 square feet -- the recently opened Umm Al Nar Rolls-Royce showroom in the United Arab Emirates holds the title as the world's largest Rolls-Royce showroom.
Unveiled by Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös, the new facility offers up s premium experience for potential Rolls-Royce customers. There is room for five Rolls-Royce cars, a coffee bar, and a lounge where customers can configure their new Rolls-Royce to their hearts' content. For existing customers, there's also a service facility attached. The new showroom is part of an ongoing expansion of facilities in the Persian Gulf region, which Rolls-Royce says accounts for about 15 percent of its total annual sales.
Showcased at the new facility is one of 100 Spirit of Ecstasy Centenary Collection Phantom Drophead Coupe. The special-edition Phantom convertible is dedicated to the centennial anniversary of the Spirit of Ecstasy, the famous Rolls-Royce hood ornament. In addition to the usual Drophead Coupe accouterments, the Collection cars feature design details such as Spirit of Ecstasy-inspired styling, a white-on-black "RR" badge, and a hood ornament that's lit from below, bathed in white light. Not surprisingly, these limited-edition Rollers have been popular in the Middle East.
