Barber Motorsports Park is reason enough to visit the Porsche Sport Driving School--it's one of the country's most beautiful motorsports compounds, and has a brief but potent history in Grand-Am road racing use. Now, it's even better: you can drive the 911 GT3 Cup car.
Mercedes' AMG Driving Academy recently announced a similar program for its SLS AMG GT3 racer. Porsche's GT3 Cup Experience offers in-car instruction from a team of experienced racers, including Hurley Haywood, plus video and data acquisition to help get the most driver improvement possible.
You'll need to have some prior experience to get into the 450-horsepower, racing-slick-equipped GT3 Cup cars, however. According to Porsche, "This program is designed for experienced drivers that are ready for the next level."
If you're qualified, you can get behind the wheel by contacting the Porsche Sport Driving School site or by phone at 888-204-7474.
