Porsche Panamera S
A new "parallel full hybrid model" will be on display at Porsche's Geneva Motor Show stand, and we're expecting it to be the Panamera S Hybrid. The V-6 models arrived last year, as did the new Cayenne S Hybrid, so a new production hybrid makes most sense in the humpbacked four-door.
Power for the Panamera hybrid will likely come from a similar layout to the Cayenne S Hybrid: a 333-horsepower supercharged V-6 paired with a duo of electric motors good for 47 horsepower. Available torque? About 428 pound-feet from 1,000 rpm.
That kind of hybrid power is good for 6.1-second 0-60 mph sprints in the Cayenne, and we'd expect the Panamera Hybrid to dip into the five-second range. Fuel economy in the Cayenne is 21/25 mpg. The Panamera should improve on that slightly.
We'll have the full details of the unveiling live from the Geneva show floor, so stay tuned. The show's press days start March 1.
