Jalopnik has a nice piece detailing how Chevrolet decided to mount the AM/FM radio antenna on the upcoming Camaro convertible on the rear decklid spoiler in response to complaints for Camaro enthusiasts about the possible use of a traditional whip antenna.
We won't go into deep detail--you can surf over to Jalopnik to read the whole thing--but we will give Chevy a lot of credit for both responding to customer complaints and for engineering a creative solution.
Perhaps if the spoiler-mounted antenna works over the long term, we'll see more applications throughout the industry.
