They have developed the Ford Mustang Boss ‘302S’, a track-only version of the retro-styled muscle car designed specifically for track days and road racing in a number of SCCA and NASA classes. Pictured here is a prototype version developed by Tiger Racing of Covina, California. The final version will be unveiled at the 2010 Performance Racing Industry trade show next month.
The Mustang Boss 302S will sit between the road-legal Mustang Boss 302 and the more extreme Boss 302R Grand-Am race car, providing a replacement for the FR500S Mustang that’s ending production in the near future. Interested buyers will be able to use the cars in race series like the World Challenge GTS class and NASA’s American Iron.
Pricing will start at $79,000. For this money, buyers will get a 5.0-liter four-valve V-8 powerplant and a six-speed manual transmission, a roll cage, Recaro seats, safety harness, data acquisition and race dampers and springs, plus Brembo brakes and a performance tire package.
