Here we have a pair of cars from the SEMA Scion tC Tuner Challenge, spanning the gap from full-race to near-steampunk. We'd have a hard time deciding between the performance of the Steve Pangilinan car or the slick looks of the Shawn Baker entry.
Speaking of the Pangilinan car, it's fitted with a Decendant TC2 turbo kit, full turbo-back exhaust, NOS in a carbon fiber bottle, Exedy clutch, and some shiny bits under the hood. Inside, it's all safety and race gear, with Recaro Pro Racer seats, a Recaro x Willans Harness, custom steering wheel and DJ Safety fire suppression system. The suspension gets a KW coilover treatment, and the exterior gets more carbon fiber than the used parts bin at an F1 factory.
Then we have Shawn Baker's car. Understated, muted colors and some truly gorgeous vintage-looking leather seats and upholstery match with a retro-themed dash for what may be the coolest tC yet in terms of sheer aesthetics. The mod list is about a mile long, but it gets plenty of powertrain upgrades, including an intercooled turbo system, plus a copper/matte black engine bay treatment. The suspension is set up on AirLift electronic air ride dampers to slam the car on its 19-inch 3-piece forged wheels wrapping Wilwood 14-inch brakes.
