It's going to take us a while to get used to hearing Mopar accessories and new Chrysler products introduced with an Italian accent, but auditory oddities aside, the new vehicle information iPhone app released today by Chrysler is an interesting development.
Debuting on the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the free app offers vehicle maintenance info, product overviews, and more--effectively taking the owner's manual out of the glovebox and putting it in your pocket. With some nice enhancements, of course.
In addition to the standard user manual content, the app adds a way to contact customer assistance from the app, and also links out to brand-specific social media outlets. High-res vehicle images and videos are also integrated, potentially making the app useful not only for owners, but for fans or those in the market for a new vehicle.
The app will be rolled out to the rest of the Chrysler lineup, including Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep and Ram vehicles, by the end of the year. Blackberry and Android users need not fear: the app will be coming to those platforms soon, as well.
Check out the app's features in the video presentation below.
