Ferrari 599 GTO images leaked
Yesterday the European pricing guide for the Ferrari 599 GTO leaked onto the Web, and today photos of the car undisguised--and still looking an awful lot like the 599XX, including the heavily ventilated hood--have scurried out from the shadows. With all the excitement over the car's performance, it's no surprise that Ferrari just can't keep the GTO under wraps.
The images, sourced by French site Caradisiac, show the car on display in Italy for a hand-picked, though apparently not vetted--or frisked--carefully enough, audience. The visuals confirm the details we've already heard, with a serious aerodynamics package giving the visual nod to the performance work done beneath the skin.
The ample hood venting is likely necessary to clear heat from the souped-up V-12 engine, expected to put out close to 700 horsepower in GTO tune. Weight savings, likely primarily in the interior, shave about 150 pounds from the car, helping turn the car into a double-duty track-star and strip stunner.
We'll have the full information and official high-res photos fresh from the oven in early April, but until then, check out the photos at the link below.
