Driven out of a confrontation with Enzo Ferrari and onto the center stage of the world's supercar scene by Ferrucio Lamborghini, the Lamborghini brand actually started as a manufacturer of farm tractors. If you're a sucker for this kind of back story or just a hound for the exotic, then the official book of the company's story might be just what you're looking for.
The book, entitled simply Automobili Lamborghini, is a hisetory of the company edited by Electa as part of its Industry and Design series. Lamborghini helped with the book's creation by giving Electa access to its own historical archives and photography.
Journalist Decio G.R. Carugati presents the narrative, running from 1963 through to the present, and even touching on the future of Lamborghini. “Lamborghini explores and pushes automotive boundaries further,” says Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “Every Lamborghini model is inspired by that principle whilst remaining true to its Italian spirit.”
The book is available now, just in time for the holidays, in both its native Italian and an English-language version. It's priced at 80 Euros in its home market, likely putting the price tag somewhere north of $100 in the U.S.
