Audi’s Q7, A8 and A6 vehicles can now be equipped with an iPod connection that works in conjunction with its MMI computerized control system. The set-up includes a storage compartment for the iPod plus an adaptor, and is housed inside the vehicle’s glove box for the sedans and the rear centre armrest in the Q7 SUV. The system allows users to control their iPod with Audi’s MMI interface or with the extra buttons on the steering wheel.

Audi charges €240 for the system in its homeland, but will offer existing owners in other markets the chance to retrofit their cars starting next year. The cars are also capable of playing MP3 and WMA through the CD player, and the iPod system will also make its way into the rest of Audi’s range, including the A3, A4 and TT model lines.
