Not long ago, we brought you details on Walkinshaw Performance’s new W375 kit for the HSV’s Gen-F range of muscle sedans, which focused on naturally aspirated power. Walkinshaw is now back with two new supercharged kits for the HSVs as well as the regular Holden Commodore SS-V, to be sold here as the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and this time the power levels rate as high as 667 horsepower.

The first kit, the W457, is designed for the Commodore SS-V, which in standard tune generates just 362 horsepower from its 6.0-liter V-8. With Walkinshaw’s supercharger kit installed, output now registers at 612 horsepower. Torque, meanwhile, is boosted to 575 pound-feet.

The second kit, the W497, is designed for HSV Gen-F models equipped with a 6.2-liter LS3 V-8. This is the same engine destined for the Chevy SS and in the HSVs output registers between 435 and 455 horsepower in standard trim. Slap on Walkinshaw’s supercharger kit and you’re looking at a new output of 667 horsepower and 704 pound-feet of torque. That’s substantially more than even the output of the supercharged LSA fitted to the range-topping Gen-F GTS model.

Included in the kits are a custom supercharger from Eaton, upgraded fuel injectors, an intercooler, high-flow intakes and exhaust, 12-inch long intake runners, and upgraded belts.

Pricing for either kit is set at a very reasonable $18,990 ($18,100 in U.S. dollars) and this includes installation. Walkinshaw also provides a full drivetrain warranty for the balance of the manufacturer’s new vehicle warranty.

While these kits aren’t available yet in the U.S., they do bode well for the performance upgrades we can expect for the Chevy SS once the car lands in the hands of local tuners. A supercharged LS3 in a roomy four-door sedan is the practical performance machine you’ve been waiting for.
